The James Fund is a special fund within SickKids Foundation, which raises money and awareness for neuroblastoma research. Neuroblastoma is a deadly childhood cancer of the central nervous system which claimed the life of 8 year old James Birrell in 2001. His family has vowed to fulfill James' dream that no other child should die from this disease. The James Fund has mobilized other neuroblastoma families to fight this disease and has become a leading player in neuroblastoma research globally. Funding research in 4 countries, The James Fund is now providing hope to families which currently face an 85% mortality rate for this disease.
